A drop of water falls as rain on the top of a mountain. Many drops form a stream, and the stream flows down the mountain to join a river. The river flows until it merges with the ocean. When the river enters the ocean, what is the original drop of water to be called? Is it a drop of rain, or is it the ocean?
“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” ~ Rumi
I am one with All That Is. The Source of All That Is exists within me giving consciousness and life energy to every atom of my body. The Source is the energy surrounding and flooding the formed and the formless. The Source creates and dwells equally in all that we know and beyond. There is only One being here.
Oneness has been known and taught since the beginning of our existence. Here is an example of this ancient wisdom from the Hindu point of view. This excerpt is from the questions and answers part in the book Where Are You Going by Swami Muktananda.
A devotee asked, “Do you consider yourself God?”
The teacher replied, “Yes, and I also consider you God.
Swami Muktananda wrote: A great being named Siddharudha taught me Vedanta. He used to constantly repeat Shivo’ham which means ‘I am Shiva.’ Once someone asked him, “Do you call yourself Shiva?”
“Absolutely,” he said.
“How can you do that?” the person asked.
Siddharudha answered, “Because of your particular understanding and knowledge, you do not consider yourself Shiva. Because of my particular understanding and knowledge, I do.” (end excerpt)
In case you are not aware, Shiva is one part of the Hindu trinity consisting of Brahma, the creator, Vishnu, the preserver, and Shiva, the transformer. The wisdom of Oneness reveals that this trinity has a single Source and is inseparable like the Christian trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Joshua teaches that when we understand our whole self, we experience oneness with All That Is. Whether we are aware of it or not, we are endowed with the power to create our own reality. That makes us “god” of our existence. That is how powerful we are. As humans, it is important to awaken to our power; however, problems arise when we begin to think we have power over others. Please remember that I am “god” of my life and no other.
There is only One being here. May you awaken fully to this experience and become a conscious creator. If you would like to explore Joshua’s teaching of Oneness, I invite you to read, The Seventh Major Understanding — A Message of Awakening
