We have all heard the wisdom of Gandhi’s statement that we need to be the change we wish to see in the world.
Please share examples of how you are being the change you wish to see. What do you wish to change in the world? How do you model that change in your life?
Helen Le Mesurier
What I wish to see change in the world is done through the simple act of kindness. Kindness in thought and action will obliterate rudeness, torment, cruelty, fear, etc. I think kindness is the root of all spirituality. It is God’s ‘goodwill toward man’ of the Christmas story – it is ‘love one another’ – it is ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you’. All spiritual paths need kindness as their footstool. I am so saddened when I see or hear of unkindness. I am constantly sending out my energy of kindness and peace to all whom I come across who display unkindness. I used to get angry at them, until I saw that such an attitude was unkind!!!!! Now I focus on letting my light shine out to them, rather than have their behaviour darken my aura.

Helen, thank you so much for sharing how you model the change you want to see in the world. I LOVE IT! Your point is beautifully stated, very insightful, and inspiring! It is a simple step we can all take in making this world a kinder and gentler place for all to share. I completely agree with your personal realization that getting angry when we hear of rude or unkind behavior only spreads the energy of angry. I love your words, “All spiritual paths need kindness as their footstool.” That’s beautiful and it touched my heart. Thank you again for sharing your way of being, your awareness and your love. JOY!
